(a) To
develop a world class educational museum-park environment available to
educational groups (kindergartens, schools, colleges and other
educational facilities) and individuals with information and interactive
educational experiences about the ancient and modern world through
study and exploration of dinosaurs and palaeontology inculding the
interface with the related disciplines of geology and incorporating
archaeology history and cultural stories from Aotearoa/New Zealand and
around the world.
(b) To
educate, encourage, inspire and equip present and future generations
with the ability to understand the nature of science by offering unique
hands-on learning opportunities and legitimate interpretations of
various scientific evidences.
(c) To
encourage through education the recognition of the world-wide debate
and changing interpretations within the scientific environment, in
particular in relation to dinosaurs, palaeontology and geology.
(d) To
provide within the context of a ‘living’ museum-park environment, a
forum/facility where different world interpretations of science are
presented without bias in the light of development of scientific
knowledge.
(e) To
provide educational scholarship opportunities for students in New
Zealand, in particular in relation to the study of dinosaurs,
palaeontology and geology.
(f) To provide sponsorships and grants to such community based groups and charitable organisations as the Board thinks fit.
(g) To
develop an educational learning facility within the museum-park for the
purpose of the conservation and care of Aotearoa/New Zealand native
reptiles and other endangered and exotic reptile, flora and fauna.
(h) To
foster international relationships with zoos and conservation
organisations of flora and fauna (both in Aotearoa/New Zealand and
globally).
(i) To
work with appropriate organisations and agencies (government and non
government) to develop specific Import Health Standards for exotic and
endangered reptiles and other flora and fauna.
(j) To
inspire New Zealand students (through the exercise of its objectives)
to excel in thinking logically, intelligently, critically and creatively
for their own benefit and the benefit of all people.
(k) To support such other charitable purposes as the Board sees fit.
(l) To
do all such other things as may from time to time seem desirable for
the furthering of the objectives of the Trust; and generally to use and
apply the Trust fund for the promotion and encouragement of these
objectives of the Trust as the Board of the Trust may from time to time
think fit.
